Cody's eyes trailed over the beautiful scenery of Hogwarts, before darting to the parchment that rest on her knee. Her hand skillfully added a few details with a muggle pencil on a drawing of Hogwarts castle that she had started. It was in great detail. Every little line was drawn, every stone, every crevice, every tree. Cody was in a horrible mood today and it helped to be alone, sitting in this short, round tree that grew on the edge of the Forbidden Forest over looking the start of a beautiful sunset this evening. One reason she was in such a bad mood was because she totally skipped a class today and to make it all worse Professor Snape’s potion’s class. She knew that she was facing at least a week’s worth detention and probably the most boring lecture in the history of class skipping lectures. She doesn’t have anyone to impress, especially since her parents probably couldn’t care less about what she does at school. Nonetheless, she wanted to kill herself for skipping potions class.
Sighing, Cody slide down from the tree and stuck the unfinished picture and the pencil in her bag and started across the grounds toward the Whomping Willow. She hadn’t noticed how close she was to the dangerous tree until a long limb swooped down and battered her right in the stomach, making her fly a few feet from were she once stood. She landed on her back, gasping for air and coughing, “Bloody tree!” She shouted in anger, getting to her feet. She picked up a large rock and threw it at the willow. The willow seemed to know exactly where the rock was going to hit, when it swung out a limb and batted the rock. The rock flew to the left of Cody, where a few Ravenclaw girls stood. Cody’s eyes darted to the group as she heard a scream from one of the girls. The rock had hit the girl in the shoulder and knocked her clear off her feet as tears flowed down her cheeks. Cody’s jaw dropped, the she bust up laughing. She put her hand over her mouth to try and stop laughing as she quickly walked away from the scene, trying to look unsuspicious. Not exactly what I had in mind. She thought, grinning.
